So it's almost May, and to most people May is far from being considered Summer time... but not for Camp Arev. Many hours of thought, preparation and prayer have already been spent on what our campers will experience at during July & August.
For those of you who wonder what the first steps of camp planning are, it goes something like this (but very condensed):
1. Prayer, thinking about what went right & what went wrong at the last camps,
2. BUDGET planning
3. Brainstorming (more prayer & thinking)
4. Thinking about & talking with Pastors about the theme (lots of praying)
5. Hiring Cook, Nurse, Speaker, PA's, & Worship Teams (Praying)
6. Getting applicants for counselors, etc.
7. Hiring Counselors & Kitchen Staff
8. Start advertising for camp (Brochure Design, Posters, etc.)
9. Staff Training
10. Registering Campers
11. Begin planning for all camp activities.
12. Staff Training
13. Praying severly
14. Getting materials, registration information, and all last minute materials in order
15. CAMP! (PRAYING, praying, & praying)
